Lake Forest Dallas HOA - Tamara Mattison

Tamara Mattison - President

Tamara Mattison and her husband, Mark Floyd, love living in their home in Lake Forest. Since buying their property in 2000, Tamara served on the Advisory Committee to the developer prior to transition of the community to homeowner control in 2005, the Board of Directors from 2006 to 2008, and the Legal Committee until 2008, and is still serving on the Finance and Audit Committee. She also served on the Communications Committee and was a co-editor of the Swan from 2003 to 2010.

Tamara practiced corporate and securities law at leading law firms in California and Texas, with a focus on small start-up companies for over 10 years. Prior to practicing law, she was in public accounting for over four years. She retired from the practice of law in March 2001. Tamara currently enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her family, including her five grandchildren.

Lake Forest Dallas HOA - Scott Mackler

Scott Mackler - Vice President

Scott was not born here in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could! Scott and his wife, Deborah Friedman, M.D., met in Houston, TX, and were married in 1987. After a long cold exile in Upstate New York's Finger Lakes region, they returned to Texas and settled into Lake Forest in October of 2011. Scott has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the University of Houston. Scott has served as General Manager for the US branch of a European cleanroom manufacturer, owns his own contamination control engineering consulting practice, has managed the thermal vacuum testing facilities for classified intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance satellites, and has recently found a home at Abbott Labs in Irving, managing an Operations Engineering group. When not working, Scott enjoys high performance driving and holds an SCCA competition license. Now once again a Texan, he also enjoys target shooting and country music. His wife, Deb, is Professor, Neurology & Neurotherapeutics and Ophthalmology at UTSW, and is the Director of the Multi-Disciplinary Headache Center there. Together they both enjoy wine tasting and travel. Scott has served on the LF CapEx committee and his projects have included "Light Up Lake Forest" and the wrought iron fence maintenance and upkeep. He was elected to a two-year term on the board in Nov 2013 and serves as a Class A director in Group 2.

Lake Forest Dallas HOA - Kathy Sherwood

Kathy Sherwood - Secretary

Kathy Sherwood moved to Texas from Minnesota in 2005, along with her husband, Craig, and children Michael and Nicole. In 2015, with the kids "launched" (or nearly launched), they moved to Lake Forest, and Kathy quickly became active in the community. In addition to her Board duties, she chairs the Residential Architectural Review Committee, where she enjoys meeting with neighbors to discuss projects that improve their homes and the neighborhood. She's also an active member of the Lake Forest book club, which has been a wonderful way to get to know many of the women in the neighborhood.

Outside of Lake Forest, Kathy is senior leasing counsel for Macerich (NYSE: MAC), a commercial shopping center developer, owner and manager. She is also a frequent speaker in the shopping center legal industry. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys travel, reading, fitness, and spending time with her two children and two dogs.

Kathy is passionate about bringing people together, and has joined the Board to lend her experience in negotiation and dispute resolution toward uniting the neighborhood.

Lake Forest Dallas HOA - Catherine J. Rodewald

Catherine J. Rodewald - Treasurer

Catherine Rodewald and her husband, Jeff, have lived in Lake Forest for 9 ½ years, first on Forest Glen and currently on Oak Manor. She is a member of the CompuCom Redevelopment Task Force.

Prior to her retirement, Catherine was the President and CEO of Prudential Asset Resources and Managing Director of its parent company, Prudential Mortgage Capital Company. In this role, she was responsible for loan closing, servicing and asset management for the firm’s $70 Billion commercial real estate loan portfolio. Before joining Prudential in 2002, she served as the Chief Information Officer for Hunt Consolidated, Inc., an international organization with holdings in oil and gas, utilities, real estate, and financial services. Well known throughout the commercial real estate finance industry, Catherine held many positions of leadership with the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council. In 2009, she was presented with the MBA’s highest recognition, the Distinguished Service Award.

Active at the state and local levels, Catherine was appointed by Governor Rick Perry and served the State of Texas for 11 years, initially as a member of the board of directors of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and later as one of 7 Commissioners providing oversight to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. In addition to serving as the board chair for the foundation of Dallas County’s public hospital system, she has served on the boards of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas Women’s Foundation, and the Dallas Chapter of the International Women’s Forum.

A summa cum laude graduate of Northwood University, Catherine’s significant awards include the Athena Award presented by the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas Business Journal’s Top 25 Women in Business Award, and Real Estate Forum’s National Women of Influence Award.

Catherine was elected to the board in November 2017 as a Class A Director in Group 1 for a 2-year term.

Lake Forest Dallas HOA - Errol McKoy

Errol McKoy - Director at Large

Errol was born in Quanah, Texas and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, moving to Dallas in 1961. He began his career in the amusement park industry working summers at Six Flags Over Texas until receiving a BA degree in Economics from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. After graduation he spent the next forty years managing large entertainment facilities ( Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia and the State Fair Of Texas )--all having operating budgets in excess of $50 M. He is now a consultant for the State Fair Of Texas and has license agreements on large amusement park rides and large ride drive systems he has invented with companies in Switzerland and Canada. He has served on the Advisory Committee to the Developer of Lake Forest, served on the LF Board of Directors and the Landscape Committee a number of times since the transition. He was elected and has served as President of the BOD on three different occasions. Errol and his wife Sandy have lived in LF since 2001 and resides on Preston Brook Place. Errol currently enjoys playing tennis, golf, spending time with family and is an avid gardener.

Lake Forest Dallas HOA - David Sterner

David Sterner - Member at Large

David Sterner and his wife Donna Jordan enjoy the Lake Forest’s friends, open spaces, amenities, and safety. David has served on the Cap Ex committee for many years, completing a safety lighting project and assisting in evaluation of other projects. David and Donna enjoy travel, arts, wine and food experiences, duplicate bridge, and hiking.

David received his Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas. Also completed advanced programs at Harvard and other institutions for specialized professional education.

An IBM retiree who spent his career identifying and providing solutions to both customer and internal business problems. Worked with IBM’s largest customer’s marketing teams to select and sell the correct IBM solution for the customer’s needs which resulted in very large sales. Started, developed, and managed a country wide quality program to solve internal difficulties identified by the Marketing Force that had not been solved by the normal processes. Often these issues were across IBM Divisions making resolution difficult. Solution owner was identified, commitment obtained to resolve, solution was provided, and implementation was tracked to completion. The summaries were often presented to multiple Division Presidents. Received numerous awards and recognitions. EDS was David’s customer when EDS moved from this Forest Lane property to Legacy.

As a second career David held Vice President positions at several organizations, developing quality software solutions for specific needs. David continues his consulting practice.

Using these problem-solving skills David will work with the Common Area Preservation Committee to improve the Lake Forest Common Areas.
